In September I left home for three months of active duty training with the Army. If I got COVID while I was there, I would get sent home and have to finish the training another time. A lot had gone into me getting this training done in this particular three month period. I could not afford to get recycled.
I was already exercising seven days a week, I eat pretty healthy, I had been vaccinated. (Do not comment about vaccines. This is not a post about vaccines. This is about Alice. Remember Alice?) Still, I wanted to cover all my bases, so I started a vitamin regimen I called my anti-COVID cocktail. (I would have hung garlic and crystals around my neck if I thought it would have helped. I needed to get this training done.) I felt good. I was exercising. The food on post was better than expected. I made it through and graduated on December 16th.
The other day I saw a commercial for a pharmacy that was advertising some of the same vitamins and supplements I was taking. But here’s the thing. The guy in the commercial wasn’t exercising. They show him actively avoiding it, but the implication is he’s covered because he’s taking supplements.
That’s not how it works. That’s not how any of this works!
But you are in luck. Because now that I have your attention, I want to introduce you to the method I have discovered that will help you lose weight and gain energy, and YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO A THING!
That’s a lie! You do have to do a thing. You have to do lots of things! You want energy? Eat good food. You want energy? Burn some and you’ll gain some. Go outside. Get your Vitamin D from the sunshine, not just a pill. You have to move.
You get one body. It’s up to you how you want to treat it. If you want to treat it well and have more energy, you need to make it move.
But there are ways to make it “easier”. If you hate running, don’t try to be a runner. Find something you love to do. And if you’re not sure what that is, then you have the chance to experiment and try different things. You don’t know what you might fall in love with. Believe me, there some Pickleball psychopaths where I live. Who knew?
Sitting down, staying inside, and being afraid is to easy these days. And there are those who want to make it easier, because they make money of all three things.
That’s not you. You move.
Peace.

Just beware – those Pickleball psychopaths are coming for YOU!!
Seriously if nothing else matters, physical exercise simply makes you feel better. The health benefits are a bonus!
So glad to hear you’re better! I had Covid Pneumonia in September, it was a pretty scary time. It has definitely given me a different view on how I treat myself! This is encouraging! Thank you 😊
You are welcome. If I can do anything to help, let me know.
You set a good example, Patrick.
