We have a little calendar that has interesting quotes on it for each day of the year. It’s not calendar year specific, so every January 1, we simply flip it over and start again.
Some of the quotes, I love.
“How often are we offended by not being offered something we do not want?” -Eric Hoffer
I dig it. Here’s another.
“It’s not the load that breaks you down. It’s the way you carry it.”
Inspirational? It’s bullshit.
Sometimes the load does break you down. Sometimes you are given more than you can handle. What do you do when that happens? You ask for help.
One of my favorite Bible verses comes from the book called Galatians. In it the author writes, “Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you fulfill the law of Christ.” That cuts both ways, however. Sometimes you can be the person who eases someone else’s burden. Sometimes you might be the person who needs to say, scream even, “This burden is too damn heavy! Someone help!” Do it.
May is Mental Health month. Take care of yours. If you need help, get it.

Thank you for doing a fabulous job of cutting to the chase on so many issues!
